Community

Because COVID put a crimp in our ability to get together as a community, it was especially great to attend the Issaquah Highlands Juneteenth, Celebration Global Grub & Groove event last month.  This fun gathering of food and music will be happening again July 23, Aug 13, and Sept 10 – maybe I’ll see you there!

One of my fondest pre-COVID memories is from August 2019 where I had fun waving the start flag at the Annual Challenge Series Race.  This gravity car race allows those with mental and physical disabilities the experience of a thrilling soapbox derby-type race while riding in a car with a co-pilot.

Engaging with the community and meeting folks brings me much joy.  It is also important work.  As a School Board member it is an honor to represent all members of the district, and events such as this race are a great way to get to know people, and for them to get to know me.

I look forward to participating in more events over the summer as we continue to move past pandemic restrictions.

Thank you for visiting my webpage and for supporting me for re-election to the Issaquah School Board in November 2021.

A parent and product of public education, I believe that every Issaquah family, whether they are longtime residents or newer to the community, should fully experience the excellence of Issaquah School District.
